Customer-Centered TrainingDesign Technologies provides courses to support the transfer of usability technology and methods to our clients. Training can take place in a project setting, in an open enrollment course, or on-site for individuals and teams that are interested in using customer information to inform product design decisions. We also customize training to meet specific client needs. Read reviews by our course participants.Domain Characterization CourseThis course focuses on the ways to gather in-depth customer data to gain a contextual understanding of the user's domain (examples include their work, focus of interest, home, etc.). This is done with an eye to developing models which will inform and drive technology and product strategies. When entering a new market or determining a new product strategy the need to understand the target customer's domain is crucial. This course provides the participants with observational and analysis tools to aid them in understanding the current way in which people work and live, how technology currently affects them, where there are gaps or bottlenecks in how they currently work and behave, and the cultural aspects of the domain. A thorough understanding of a domain, including models of the domain, can drive product development and fuel technological innovations. This course gives participants hands-on experiences with observational methods, analysis techniques, and modeling approaches, as well as ways to speed up the process. Objectives
